CAMRA legend and still probably the best all-round cricketer at the club (on his increasingly rare appearances anyway). Excellent opening bowler and prolific hard-hitting batsman.
Club legend. Nearly 90 (ish) but still one of best technical batsman at the club. Was Mark Ramprakash’s batting guru many years ago, now passing on wisdom to club’s youngsters. Still churns out useful runs (albeit very slowly).
Hugely promising fast bowler and powerful lower order left-handed batsman who should soon be regular first-teamer. County Under-15 player.
Oldest player at the club after Graham Sainsbury. Good team man and useful slow bowler with a unique bowling action.
Another talented Sainsbury teenager coming back from injury this season. Medium pace bowler and a big swinger of the ball.
Vastly experienced all-rounder and Yaxley legend. Prolific wicket-taker with his inswingers over the years and useful middle-order batsman too.
Combative former Yaxley all-rounder. Wily slow left-arm bowler and useful middle order batsman.
Useful second team batsman with his own unique batting style.
Experienced swing bowler who celebrates each wicket with real gusto. Decent batsman down the order and a top local umpire too.
Talented opening bowler with real pace when fired up (which isn’t very often). Also a technically correct batsman with some excellent innings under his belt.
Young all-rounder with lots of potential. Improving off-spin bowler and talented batsman whose best innings so far have been in the nets.
Club chairman, second team captain, Mr Orton Park. Big-hitting prolific batsman who is impossible to bowl to on his day and solid wicket-keeper too.
Captain of women’s XI and regular in men’s first team. Superb fielder and useful left-arm spinner.
Veteran batsman who tells everyone he used to be good. Still a consistent opening bat for second team. Main contribution to club is being Sam Jarvis’s dad.
Junior run-machine. Scored two 50s for men’s team last year at age of 12 and already better than his dad. Accurate medium pacer too and another of the club’s young county representatives.
Talented teenager. A hard-hitting left-handed batsman and useful left-arm wrist spinner. County youth team player with bright future.
Newcomer to club last season. Excellent fielder who can chip in with useful runs and wickets.
Laid-back, experienced medium/slow seam bowler and useful lower order batsman.
Has been Orton’s No.1 batsman for what seems like forever. Nearly 50 but still a run-machine. Picks up more wickets than he deserves with slow, non-spinning spin bowling too.
Talented all-rounder and outstanding fielder who can fill in competently almost anywhere in the side. Never falls out with his brother, Hamish. Ever.
Classy, calm and experienced batsman who normally disappears without trace halfway through the season. Very consistent top-order runscorer.
High-class all-rounder. Club’s leading runscorer and wicket taker this century (according to Play-Cricket, anyway). Lively medium pace seam bowler and attacking middle order batsman. Never falls out with his brother, Gavin. Ever.
New recruit at Orton this season and another very useful young all-rounder. Middle order batsman, seam bowler and occasional wicket-keeper too. Should make big impression this year.
Another talented young all-rounder. Tall, hard-hitting middle-order batsman and more than useful medium (sometimes quick) bowler. Big potential.
Captain. Experienced and much-travelled cricketer. Prolific wicket-taker with his slow left-armers and a big-hitting left-handed batsman. Never stops talking.
Big off-spinner has been the club’s leading wicket taker for the past two seasons. Counts them all up as he goes along and happy to talk you through each dismissal given even half a chance. Capable lower order batsman
Former Peterborough Town seam bowler and still a class act with the ball.. until his dodgy hamstrings start playing up. When captain, likes to insert opposition on flawless backing tracks under scorching sun.
